WebIn my experience, things that absorb are better with gouache than harder surfaces. If the water can sit on the surface, anything more fluid that straight from the tubs will just pool up and pull up former layers. But that could be how I paint too. I painted on wood panel and it looks awesome but it sucked. Definitely happier with paper.
