However one of the first military traditions you can choose as Rome on the Italic tree lets you upgrade that to 6, meaning you can support up to 2 level 1 forts in each province. That should cost you only 1 gold per province.

WitrynaDrop these cav around Italy and conquer their undefended provinces. Make sure to have a commander for each unit so you can capture slaves. Just run around raiding their provinces and avoiding all conflict. Have a few ships shadow your cav so if you ever get cornered you can just hop onto a ship.
